      Dress for Success: It’s true what they say about First impressions. They can make a big difference to a potential employer. It is important to dress in business professional attire.

      Follow up and send a thank you message: Take the time out and send a thank you message. It is polite and shows that you are interested in the opportunity. It is also a great way to ask a follow up question.

      Use your connections: LinkedIn is a great tool that you can use to see any shared connections that may be able to give you some insight on the hiring manager. Who you know is very important these days.

      Research the company: Visit the company website and read up on current news or recent awards. There is a ton of information online that can provide you with the inside scoop. Don’t embarrass yourself.

      Practice Interviewing: Frame possible scenarios and questions in your head so you are prepared. Practicing role playing with a friend will help with the actual interview.

      Be On Time: Make sure you know where you are going. Prepare a map/GPS and get their early. Don’t risk getting their late in case of traffic. It’s always beneficial to get their early so you can calm your nerves.

      Show What You Know:

      Don’t talk too much: Keep your answers short and to the point. Use the interview time wisely and don’t ramble.

      Show Enthusiasm: Get excited about the opportunity. Body language is a great way communicate. A firm handshake or mimicking a persons smile or laugh. Tell the interviewer you want the job and you can start immediately.

      Don’t Wiki: Never respond to a question you can’t answer by telling the interviewer you will look it up on the Internet.
